This position is temporary- up to 6 months
Located downtown (Union Station) Los Angeles, CA
The Administrative (Financial) Analyst will provide high-level analytical and administrative support to the Office of Safety, Security & Protection Group. This role requires independent judgment and expertise in budget development, financial administration, invoice and audit compliance, and dashboard reporting. The successful candidate will manage multiple time-sensitive assignments in a high-energy, team-based environment.
The candidate will play a key role in budgetary support, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY26) Budget Cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and administer budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
+ Perform financial analysis, including monthly and variance reporting.
+ Prepare financial statements and analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
+ Ensure invoice and audit compliance administration.
+ Develop and maintain dashboard reports for executive and team use.
+ Provide general high-level administrative support as needed.
+ Support project management efforts by gathering and compiling data, tracking progress, and preparing necessary documentation.
+ Develop and administer contracts and financial tracking systems.
+ Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other relevant documents.
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Utilize independent judgment to prioritize tasks and solve problems efficiently.
+ Maintain organization and ensure accuracy in financial and administrative processes.
Required Qualifications:
+ Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with four (4) years of relevant experience; OR
+ Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with two (2) years of relevant experience.
+ Financial Expertise:
+ Minimum of four (4) years of financial background in:
+ Monthly & Variance Reporting
+ Data Analysis (Proficient)
+ Preparation of Financial Statements
+ Technical Proficiency:
+ Expert knowledge in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel (must be experienced in preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations).
+ Skills & Abilities:
+ Analyze budgetary, financial, procedural, and organizational issues.
+ Provide project management support and financial tracking.
+ Conduct research, compile and analyze data, and generate reports.
+ Use independent judgment and problem-solving skills to prioritize and multi-task efficiently.
+ Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
+ Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and project orientation.
+ Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
+ Other Requirements:
+ Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License and be able to drive in the course of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in dashboard reporting tools and financial compliance auditing.
+ Prior experience in safety, security, or protection-related administrative roles.
+ Strong analytical mindset with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
