I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Supports and works with Customers, Managers and Administrators.  Resolves inquiries and provides training in use and navigation of multiple budgeting systems.  
2. Develops a thorough working knowledge of budget financial software application(s) and obtains efficient navigation capabilities. May assist with system quality assurance, testing and/or maintenance.
3. Obtains data from financial and budget systems as needed. Designs, prepares and reviews various scheduled and ad hoc reports for presentation, distribution and/or ongoing financial data evaluation.
4. Assists in populating the current working budget with data from the previous fiscal year.
5. Assists with ad hoc and routine variance analyses. Identifies variances, resolves discrepancies with all applicable personnel. Works collaboratively to develop and implement corrective actions to meet budget targets.
6. Assists in the monitoring and reconciling of financial/budget data from multiple systems, assuring accuracy and reasonability through comparison analysis of data sets.
7. May participate in various projects related to the budget process. May perform analytical studies of business plans for existing and proposed services or programs. 
8. May oversee the initiation of purchase orders, ensuring clarity and justification of requirement to ensure compliance with budgets. This includes auditing, accurately coding, and approving invoices for payment. May recommend sources of funding for expenses not included in the budget.
9. May oversee and monitor payments for consultants, moonlighting, and practice allowance expenses, ensure accuracy of rates, dates of services, cost center charged and verify work performed against schedule reviewing for duplicate submissions.
10. May prepare contractual agreements and consultant contracts, work with Legal regarding the appropriateness of contract language, process monthly invoices to contracting sites and consultant payments, and maintain internal recordkeeping for all purchase orders, consultant agreements, and subcontracts. 
11. May assist in staff development and training of new/assigned staff.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in Health Care Administration, Math, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Excellent analytical skills.
2. A working knowledge of computer-aided data analysis (e.g.,  financial/forecasting/budgeting techniques). 
3. Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred:
1. One year of relevant work experience. 
2. Familiarity with hospital/healthcare delivery systems, financial forecasting and budgeting.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
