Job Title: Financial Analyst for Plant Operations
Location: Grecia, Alajuela. Costa Rica

Reports to: Finance Manager / Plant Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst for Plant Operations to join our finance team in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing financial insights and supporting the efficient operation of our plant. This position will be responsible for analyzing costs, budgets, and financial performance, and will work closely with various departments to ensure optimal cost control and operational efficiency. The Financial Analyst will contribute to key decision-making processes that drive profitability and sustainability in our medical device manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and report on plant financial performance, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability metrics. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of plant operations. Develop and maintain cost models, analyzing direct and indirect costs, including labor, materials, overheads, and production costs. Support plant leadership by providing financial recommendations and insights to improve cost efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production. Conduct monthly reviews with operations teams to track budget vs. actual performance, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions. Manage inventory valuations, analyzing inventory turnover, and working with operations to identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory. Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process for plant operations, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals. Assist in capital expenditure analysis, tracking ROI, and ensuring financial controls around capital investments. Monitor compliance with financial controls and company policies, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, IFRS). Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, procurement, etc.) to improve financial processes and provide support for strategic projects. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by senior management or other departments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally in a manufacturing or medical device environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting in a plant operations context. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial modeling. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes and regulations is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with financial analysis in a manufacturing or medical device setting. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and cost-saving initiatives. Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CMA) is a plus.
