**Responsibilities:**
Performs independent review and analysis of financial data in support of the various finance functions. Exercises knowledge in the application of accounting principles and technical expertise in financial analysis. Analyze major financial statement lines for reasonableness and variances to prior year activity.
Responsibilities:
Financial analysis for Hajim Dean's Office cost center
- Uses UR Financial Workday to run financial reports, reviews ledgers and transactional data for monthly FAO account reconciliation.
- Provides monthly financial reporting to the Hajim Dean.
- Tracks expense trends and variance to operating budget, major gift income and use, transactions, and endowment spending.
- Initiates and processes journal entries.
- Assists with annual financial forecasts and budget development for Hajim Dean's Office cost center for $4.5M per fiscal year.
- Creates new account FAO requests.
- Supports the year-end financial close and procedures.
- Completes equipment and space surveys for the Hajim Dean's Office cost center.
- Independently reviews and analyses financial data to make recommendations in support of the Hajim Dean's Office and manage performance.
Budget development and department support
- Assists the Director of Finance with UR Budget Axiom budgeting process by updating financial information and the FAO planning files in the system for changing budget factors.
- Helps to develop spreadsheets to efficiently determine department carry-over budget and annual incentive program returns to the departments.
- Coordinates with departments to review budgets are correct in Workday UR Financials.
- Implements any budget amendments as needed in consultation with Director.
Procurement and trade payables
- Serves as purchasing card (PCard) manager and approve purchases made by PCard holders in Hajim Dean's Office cost center.
- In UR Procurement P2P (Procure to Pay) has role of FAO and cost center initiator for new purchase orders and supplier invoice requests.
- Manages vendor trade payables expenses within budget.
- Reviews Workday expense reports for the Hajim Dean's Office cost center for approval per BETR policy and procedures.
Faculty Affairs and financial operations
- Works with the Director of Faculty Affairs, Hajim to review faculty personnel action forms for financial accuracy.
- Ensures forms are processed efficiently and tracked.
- Responsible for database administration of the faculty OnBase system.
Other duties as assigned
- Prepares ad-hoc reports and financial analysis for Hajim senior leadership team and engineering departments.
- Responds to requests from leadership and departments for data reports used to support operations and decision making, meetings and presentations.
- Assists with the Dean's engineering department reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance functional area required
- Master's degree preferred
- Less than 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2 years of related experience preferred
- Must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and be comfortable working within web-based systems preferred.
- UR Financials Workday skills preferred preferred.
- Ideal candidate will have strong accounting, finance ability preferred.
- Analytical skills are essential.
- Professionalism required in management of confidential data. Attention to detail, organization and strong communication skills are also required.
- Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, self-starter, ability to work independently required.
- Recommend CLASP certification be completed within one year of hire date preferred.
