At Bernhard, stability, innovation, and growth are more than just values—they are the pillars of our continued success. **Overview** The Financial Analyst is responsible for monitoring the overall financial performance of business units within the division, including revenue and costs-to-date, forecasted costs, anticipated project gross profit as well as general and administrative expenses, as compared to the division's budget. They have the overall responsibility for reviewing actual and projected financial results and communicating with management regarding those results. **Responsibilities** Specific responsibilities include: + Performs analysis on past, projected and comparative operating results and develop forecast models. + Tracks and determines financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with budgets. + Identifies trends and recommends actions to divisional management based on sound analysis. + Performs financial project reviews as requested to validate anticipated gross profit derived from expected contract values and forecasted cost and report on project profitability to management. This review includes analysis of costs and commitments for equipment, subcontracts, materials and other direct job costs to ensure project management is maintaining a reasonable forecast and understanding of expected cost savings or overage throughout each project. + Monitors accounts receivable including DSO metrics and ensure managers are focused on timely collection. + Assists divisional leadership with the development of annual business unit budgets as well as monthly monitoring against budget. Includes analysis and reporting of actual project results and general and administrative costs against budgets and present estimates. + Continues personal development obtaining knowledge in lessons learned, various available technology and industry strategies to suggest improvements and drive profitability. + Ensures project management and project administration are adequately trained to utilize financial forecasting tools and software and adhere to policies related to procurement and financial management of projects. This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director of Operational Finance. **Qualifications** Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree, preferably in quantitatively focused majors such as finance, accounting, economics or engineering. + Minimum 5 years' experience. + Experience with accounting and budgeting tools. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). + Working knowledge of GAAP. + Strong problem solving ability and technological skills desired including the ability to understand complex financial models. + Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills. + Timely and accurate reporting. + Accounts receivable day's sales outstanding. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. + Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. + Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. + Understanding of ASC 606. + Construction accounting experience with mechanical construction or other self-perform specialty contractor experience. + Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboard reporting tools. Travel Requirements: + 20% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements: + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. + Climbing stairs. + Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods. + Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. + Quiet environment. + Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
