Financial Analyst II

This position will be responsible for efforts in the FP&A Department such as financial reporting, forecasting, assisting with the annual budgeting process, and recommending actions for internal stakeholders. This position will work closely with the Accounting, Supply Chain and Sales teams, as well as cross-functional operations teams.

Primary Position Tasks:

Prepare monthly Financial Statements for the commercial business unit and present findings to the Manager of FP&A

Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives

Analyze key financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes

Provide support to the FP&A team in building and maintaining various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports

Process and review bi-weekly commissions and provide analysis and recommendations to senior management

Help maintain CaptivateIQ, Red River’s commissioning system, as well as set up new commission plans, reports, and process

Prepare presentations to the senior management team

Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies

Identify corrective actions needed and work with Accounting staff to ensure P&L accurately reflects financial performance

Support Finance leadership in other analytics and ad-hoc reporting as needed

Provide ROI analysis on operating and capital expenditures.

Prepare preliminary commission statements for commercial team

Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the commercial business unit’s performance against historical, budgeted and forecasted results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and corporate objectives.

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5-7 years of applicable work experience

Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:

Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls

Demonstrate an understanding of FP&A concepts, and principles, as well as knowledge of industry practices for reporting, planning, forecasting, and analysis

Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing and challenging environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management and employees at other locations to maximize performance, problem solving, and results

Strong presence with ability to interact with Senior Leadership

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.

This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
