Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Accountant to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing current and past financial data and performance, preparing reports and projections, and assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. This role requires a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, heavy balance sheet experience, and knowledge of budgeting and forecasting. The Financial Analyst will also support month-end close duties and provide general financial support for assigned business units.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze current and past financial data and performance.Prepare reports and projections based on financial analyses.Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts for assigned business support areas.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for entities and programs.Assist with the preparation of balance sheet, cash flow, and capital expenditure budgets and forecasts.Coordinate with other finance team members to perform month-end close duties, including variance analysis and related reporting, with relevant commentary.Provide general financial support for assigned business units.Support the accounting team as needed for audit activities, reporting, and special projects.Essential SkillsProficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and data analysis.Strong accounting and reconciliation skills.Experience with data mining, data mapping, and data aggregation.Proficiency in financial planning analysis and financial modeling.Ability to validate financial data and perform aggregate testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years in a Sr. Accountant or FP&A role.Understanding of indirect cash flow, reconciliations, and balance sheet reporting.Experience in researching, analyzing, and communicating financial data to non-financial leaders.Strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.Work EnvironmentThe position offers remote work opportunities, great benefits, and paid time off if the role transitions to a permanent position. The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.46
