What we want The Financial Analyst II reports to Assistant Director of Cost & Analysis under the Associate VP for Finance and Controller. This position is responsible for reviewing service center and miscellaneous rates, preparing and maintaining detailed cost models to be used in assessing Texas A&M System components, managing reviewing contracts and monitoring them for compliance, and preparing reports and presentations serving as an internal consultant to campus departments and the Division of Finance and business services, performing ad hoc analysis. Required Education and Experience + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Three years of related experience in accounting, finance, and/or analytical services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Proficient in Excel. + Familiarity with Word and Access. + Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. + Ability to analyze large data sets. + Knowledge of cost accounting and generally accepted accounting principles. + Ability to assist customers. + Good interviewing skills. + Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications + Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance. + Higher education and/or public accounting experience. + Experience in finance and/or analytical services. + Thorough knowledge of OMB Circular A-21 (Cost Principles for Educational Institutions). + Proficient in Word, Access and PowerPoint, FAMIS, Canopy, SAP Business Objects Essential Duties/Tasks + SERVICE CENTER RATE REVIEWS - Review service center rate studies, gain an understanding of the service department s activities, determine the cost pool for each activity, and determine if rates are reasonable and in compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance: Cost Principles, Audit, and Administrative Requirements for Federal Awards System regulations, and University rules. If department is not in compliance, make recommendations for addressing deficiencies. + CONTRACT MANAGEMENT/MONITORING - Create a Calendar to manage important contract due dates. Prepare and update Shared Services Contracts. Review monitor leases, contracts and or agreements for compliance of applicable rules and regulations. Ensure deadlines and calculated related payments are not missed. + INTERNAL CONSULTING - Serve as an internal consultant to campus departments and the Division of Finance and Business Services by assisting customers + INFRASTRUCTURE INVOICING CALCULATION - Prepare Infrastructure calculation to invoice TAMUS auxiliaries and Agencies.
