Overview:
A top-ranked research university is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support the Director of Neurology in managing non-research-related financial activities. This role involves preparing and analyzing moderately complex financial statements, tracking project expenses, generating financial reports, and forecasting financial trends. The ideal candidate will provide key financial insights, assist in budget preparation, and ensure accurate and timely financial reconciliations.
Responsibilities: Assist with budgeting, revenue and expense tracking, invoicing, and accounting functions. Collect, analyze, and report financial updates to division leadership. Manage and analyze non-grant funds, providing routine financial assessments of the department’s financial health. Complete special financial projects as requested by the Director. Perform weekly invoicing and continuous financial reconciliation for discretionary funds. Generate reports and conduct in-depth financial data analysis for the division. Meet regularly with the Director to review reports, support budget development, and assess financial trends to improve operational efficiency. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting functions such as invoicing, general ledgers, budgeting, and financial reconciliations. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management software. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to maintain up-to-date financial records.
