Financial Analyst IV
Job Description:Data Analysis & Reporting
• Identify, collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and report information to comply with and fulfill routine and/or specific internal and external requests
• Prepare ad hoc reports to provide information to senior leadership as needed for strategic planning/decision-making
• Prepare reports and data-visualizations for use by PIs, department chairs, center directors and administration.
• Oversee and audit sponsored program funds, collaborating with units to resolve issues, including training PIs and administrators on sponsored program roles & responsibilities, accounting procedures, best practices, sponsor requirements, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
• Prepare user-friendly data visualizations for use in presentations (PowerPoint), reports (MS Excel and Word) and interactive dashboards (Power BI) and when required, provides a narrative summary of findings and recommendations
Post Award Support for SPA Research Administrators
• Forensic analysis of departmental contacts and grants and the ability to articulate and model the analysis and resolutions of problems to departmental personnel.
• Support SPA post-award team to create efficiency and ensure award compliance by providing regular reporting on items such as: Negative Balances, Closeouts, Outstanding RCR training, Outstanding Cost Share, Outstanding Effort, burn rates, and open encumbrances
• Provide annual and bi-annual reporting to unit leaders for sponsored program awards & expenditures and respond to ad-hoc requests when necessary
• Responsible for the monthly reporting, monitoring, and projections for SPA budget
• Analyzes complex financial data and extracts and defines relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project for the life of the award.
• In combination with the institution's accounting system data, designs financial and sponsored program reports and assists in the dissemination of information to leadership, faculty, and research administrators
• Assist with aspects of complex award management activities and provide oversight to other employees, with regard to monitoring and managing accounts, audits, evaluations and reporting
• Functions as a post award SME, answering finance related questions and assisting leadership with training
Financial Analysis
• Provide comprehensive expense review and analysis for sponsored programs, including narrative report on the findings and recommendations for correction and future management.
• Assist SPA and IFAS units with the resolution of complex post award issues by providing data, projections and analysis of the problem.
• Track, liaise with units and reconcile Faculty Salary Savings Program funding.
Internship Program Management
• Provide assistance and training for Research Administration & Finance interns working in IFA and SPA

Expected Salary:
$110K to $115K; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

• Experience gathering and synthesizing large amounts of complex information.
• Knowledge of the State of Florida and UF policies and procedures with regard to fund management.
• Organizational skills to work with changing priorities and demanding workload and to use judgment to make logical decisions.
• Proficiency in data collection, data analytics, and data visualization tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Excel, Power Point, Power BI etc.)
• Knowledge of current compliance regulations in all areas of research administration including, a thorough understanding of research administration guidelines for Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research, educational activities, and Extension, in a university environment.
• preparation, contract and grant budgets, payroll, ledger reconciliation and fiscal closeout.
• Experience with the management of a diverse and complex portfolio of sponsored program awards
• Ability to independently audit funds for oversight, compliance and training purposes.
• Experience with complex budgets, accounting and personnel functions including detailed budget
• Experience coordinating projects that require the interpretation of regulations or guidelines and to recommend fiscally responsible and sound management practices.
