Financial Analyst (Recent Graduate) - Remote
**Hours:** 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM **Location:** Remote **Job Profile Summary** This role focuses on performing a variety of financial activities, including accounting, financial analysis, audit, tax, and collections, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Financial Planning & Analysis duties: Short and long-term financial planning and/or financial analysis of business operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business performance. This includes the analysis of internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, rates of return, etc.) and of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, etc.). Conducts financial modeling to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions and corporate development activities. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. An entry level role that applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency: work is closely supervised, problems faced are not typically difficult or complex, and explains facts, policies and practices related to job area. **Job Overview** This position supports the Decision Support financial analysis team in carrying out statistical and financial analytical support for all areas of Finance and Operations. This position supports creating, designing, developing, and implementing statistical and financial reporting and dashboards to cross-functional partners. Such reporting and analytics will be done utilizing the hospital cost accounting system, Strata. Additionally, prepares financial information for both internal clients and for external submissions. Interacts with many levels across the institution and should be comfortable with written and verbal communication to multi-levels of roles. **Job Description** **Minimum Qualifications:** 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. **Preferred Qualifications:** 1. One (1) year of experience in finance or accounting. 2. Experience in healthcare finance. 3. Experience creating dashboards in a Business Intelligent tool. **Duties and Responsibilities:** The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Prepares financial information for both internal and external reporting including department leaders, senior management, Finance Committee, bond insurers, governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, trade associations, and 3rd party payors. 2. Utilizes the decision support cost accounting system and database to produce assigned management reports at various intervals of cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). 3. Provides financial analysis in support of business development initiatives and service line expansion. 4. Works alongside Decision Support team members to understand requests in order to provide valuable reports and analyses. Ability to assist in formulating action plans based on information produced including development of timelines and data needs for monitoring progress. 5. Helps report KPIs for the system to facilitate the knowledge and tools to make informed business decisions. 6. Serves as a point of contact for utilized systems, including Strata Decision Support, Epic and PowerBI. 7. Creates and distributes both internal and external surveys for the system. 8. Responds to ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and other similar or related duties as required or directed. 9. Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group’s achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment. 10. Assists Decision Support Manager and Director with miscellaneous projects as needed. **Physical Requirements:** 1. Professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. 2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment. 3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information. 4. Ability to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 6. Ability to work in confined or open environments. 7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. **Skills & Abilities:** 1. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. 2. Attention to detail and ability to function independently. 3. Ability to manage multiple projects, thoroughly and accurately while meeting deadlines. 4. Competency using MS Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.), particularly Excel. Must have foundational understanding of Excel. 5. Ability to work and thrive in an agile environment. 6. Strong analytical and communications skills.
