The Role and the Team:
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support our Worldwide Sales team within our FP&A organization. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, FP&A, and is based at Proofpoint HQ in Sunnyvale. In this role, you will be directly involved in all our core planning – monthly, quarterly, and annual outlook. You will provide variance analysis of expenses, headcount, and maintain part of our financial model to accurately reflect future performance. You will be part of a team forecasting all sales related cost with a high degree of precision, leveraging insight on our Sales Business.
Your Day to Day
Analyze budget/forecast variances to actual and review with management teamsParticipate in the annual and quarterly planning process for all the various pieces of the Sales teamsMonitor, update and review financial models to ensure they are accurate and timelyReport and measure key metrics relevant to the respective Sales teamsProvide ad hoc analysis for business supportAssist in the development and implementation of tools, systems, and processes to support the forecastsWhat you bring to the team
Proven experience as a Finance Partner, working collaboratively with functional leadersExperience with financial planningSound understanding of accounting theory and practice (e.g., basic accrual rules and proper expense timing)Proficient in Excel and PowerPointExcellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of an organizationIntellectual curiosity & willingness to grow into taking ownership in business partneringAbility to question the output of a financial model and consider options for improvementCapability at effectively managing time, prioritizing tasks, and working within deadlinesTeam player approach with strong organizational and interpersonal skillsMBA/CPA a plus factorEducation that serves as a foundation for your experience in Finance, such as a BA/BS degree in finance or accounting with 1 + years of financial analysis/review experienceWhy Proofpoint
