ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to join our Connecticut Finance team. In this role, you will provide crucial support in managing financial aspects of engineering projects. This position is hybrid out of our Wethersfield, CT office.
Responsibilities
Assists with the preparation of contracts/amendmentsHandles routine accounts payable dutiesProcesses and prepares routine, standard accounting/finance records and formsSets up and maintains accounting/finance records, files, and correspondenceCompiles and reviews invoices, checks, and other accounting/financial dataPerforms reconciliations, transfers, or balancing operations involving accounting/financial informationAcknowledges correspondence and responds to staff inquiries involving accounting/financial processing questions of a routine natureDevelops working knowledge of accounting/finance concepts, systems, and proceduresPerforms all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and proceduresOther clerical tasks as assignedSkills and Attributes
Basic understanding and knowledge of accounting/finance Familiarity using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Requires ability to work in a busy office environment with significant computer useAbility to learn and use accounting/financial computer applications (i.e. Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint)Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlinesSelf-motivated & detail-orientedTeam oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively & positively with coworkersAbility to accurately enter data into system and perform simple to moderately complex mathematical calculationsQualifications
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferredHigh School diploma or GED required1-2 years of related accounting, finance or business operation experienceWe are VHB!
