Financial Carrier Specialist
**PRIMARY PURPOSE** **:** To provide carrier support by assisting banking, carrier relations, legal, IT, operations, client services, and management with research, analysis, resolution, as well as questions and concerns regarding carriers to include frequent interactions with all members within the organization, as well as clients, vendors, insurance carriers, and brokers.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Functions as the liaison for carrier related requests between Finance and other parties to research, analyze, and resolve issues; administers incoming requests through resolution; communicates status/resolution to requestor; and coordinates communication across relevant parties to resolve requests.
+ Identifies and analyzes funding variances identified during the settlement/bank reconciliation process, takes actions to resolve, and recommends solutions; coordinates and drives resolution with relevant parties to resolve variances/issues.
+ Responsible for analyzing and resolving reconciling items timely to include application of cash, collection of receivables, and other reconciling items.
+ Reconciles settlement invoices and escrow accounts involving carriers.
+ Develops effective relationships across multiple business units, shares key information, and assists with reporting needs.
+ Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with insurance carriers.
**ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Supports the organization's quality program(s).
+ Travels as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education & Licensing**
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university preferred; completed accounting courses preferred.
**Experience**
Four (4) years of experience in accounting or related business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in the insurance, finance, or banking industry preferred.
**Skills & Knowledge**
+ Working knowledge of billing and reconciliation systems, claim systems, financial services, and insurance products
+ Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
+ PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
+ Excellent analytical and interpretive skills, including efficient use of MS Excel
+ Excellent problem solving and resolution skills
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Ability to maintains confidentiality
+ Ability to work in a team environment
+ Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
