Financial Compensation Analyst
**_If you are an internal associate, please login to Workday and apply through Jobs Hub._** **Job Purpose** The Financial Compensation Analyst assists in providing analysis and support to the compensation programs and processes. Primary responsibilities include performing compensation modeling and analysis and producing reporting to support business operations. The Analyst also organizes, tracks, and modifies compensation data and provides support to others in the department. Completes recurring monthly tasks in support of administration of compensation plans. Other responsibilities include analyzing, testing, and validating complex compensation data to ensure data accuracy, evaluating and approving pay changes, and assisting with compensation surveys. The Analyst will work with HR stakeholders to ensure data is maintained accurately in the HR Information System (HRIS), Workday, and will develop, analyze, and maintain spreadsheets and reports generated from compensation-related systems. **Essential Responsibilities** + Supports compensation team members with development, communication, data collection and analysis, and administration of compensation plans. + Participates in and administers compensation surveys and analyzes market data. + Fields calls from associates and management. Answers questions, resolves issues, and provides detailed and complex individual analysis as required. + Contributes to ad-hoc analysis and data reporting for government and internal partners including FINRA, EEOC, Compliance, and Internal Audit. + Ensures systems are updated with most recent compensation data and documents. + Verifies and reviews compensation payment amounts for accuracy and completeness. Develops controls to detect errors or variances in payments and resolves issues as necessary. + Organizes and categorizes data and reporting received by the department. Enhances data where necessary and ensures data is accurate and able to be used in department reporting. + Reviews, calculate, validate, and track compensation payments where necessary. + Provides compensation plan information, participant changes, and other data to system administrators for proper administration of compensation plans. + Responsible for assisting with administration of annual compensation processes (e.g. merit, bonus, etc.) which involves consolidating, testing, and analyzing large volumes of compensation data. + Performs complex analysis, audits, validations, calculations, and reconciliation of activities to identify and resolve potential data issues and ensure data quality and accuracy. + Evaluates and documents compensation policies, procedures, and processes. + Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance system capabilities and increase functionality. + Assists with system implementations, technical configuration, testing, project scoping and additional projects as necessary. **Other Duties** + Responsible for tracking and ensuring compensation payments and invoices are paid, in accordance with timing requirements. + Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Demonstrated skill and experience in the creation of Excel spreadsheets for modeling financial results and predicting financial outcomes in complex and uncertain scenarios. Experience and knowledge specific to modeling or forecasting sales compensation plans preferred. + Comfort with working directly with senior-level management with minimal oversight to develop compensation plans, analytical models, and reporting to meet the needs of teams. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand data and report analysis in a clear and concise format. Ability to assess data and independently seek clarification or additional data sources where necessary. Superior ability to identify errors and meet strict quality standards. + Ability to work independently and take initiative to create and maintain large numbers of complex processes, procedures, and spreadsheets to track and house data for reporting and plan administration. + Strong analytical, mathematical, problem solving, research and data mining skills. + Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines, results oriented with adaptability to work through changes. + Highly detail oriented with the ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Basic knowledge of accounting and finance and financial services industry and products. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and work extended hours as needed to meet business requirements. + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills to develop complex formulas, perform advanced functions and logic calculations and ability to build reports with varied data sets. + Experience with Power BI, Workday and Oracle systems preferred. + Strong interpersonal skills; customer service orientation with effective consulting ability. + A strong team player who builds highly effective professional relationships, with the ability to effectively work with and communicate with various levels across the organization. + Ability to develop and master compensation processes, programs, and systems quickly. + Demonstrated ability to identify errors and meet strict quality standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience required. + 1+ years work experience; preferably within the financial services industry required. + Demonstrated experience performing calculations and advanced formulas/functions in Excel preferred. + Experience evaluating data, and performing complex quantitative analysis and validation preferred.
