Primary Purpose
An experienced accounting and finance professional responsible for supporting and providing financial and accounting services to the Mountaire Prime Quality group. Serves as a key liaison of communication and reporting between Accounting, the Mountaire Prime Quality group and internal interested parties within Mountaire. Responsible for monitoring the Agri-Business group's risk and compliance with hedge policies, authority limits and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) limits, developing external and internal financial, managerial and derivative reporting in accordance with applicable regulatory and accounting requirements and collaborating with the Controller and the Regulatory Reporting Manager to enhance and maintain accounting and financial trade activity records, providing research and data related to variances, communicating and compiling information to internal and external users, designing and implementing financial and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system-level controls and developing and documenting policies, procedures and training materials.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and distribute financial, managerial and derivative reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory frameworks. Serve as a liaison for financial reporting and compliance communications between Accounting, Mountaire Prime Quality leadership and other internal stakeholders. Risk and compliance activities, including risk committee meetings, monitoring compliance with hedge policies, delegated authority limits and workflows, position management, Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulatory thresholds/limit management for the Mountaire Prime Quality group. Perform detailed cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity, identify trends and support short- and long-term financial planning. Develop and maintain internal controls related to cash management processes, ensuring compliance with policy and minimizing risk. Prepare and distribute timely and accurate cash flow reports to internal stakeholders, supporting decision-making and forecasting. Analyze financial data to identify and explain variances, trends and areas of potential risk or opportunity. Assist with major initiatives on upholding business ethics and ensuring adherence to the company's code of conduct. Manage and review transactions with related parties to maintain transparency and regulatory compliance. Support compliance with regulatory requirements by preparing documentation, coordinating with relevant teams and responding to inquiries.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years’ experience in public accounting, financial services or commodity accounting. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and mark-to-market (MTM) experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license preferred. Working knowledge of hedge accounting, derivative instruments and regulatory frameworks (i.e., CFTC). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Clear and professional communication skills across functional areas. Ability to prioritize work independently while collaborating with others to achieve team goals. Occasional travel @ 20%.
