Enko Education is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee financial control processes with a strong focus on HR data & payroll control. You are a highly analytical and structured finance professional with proven expertise in payroll cost control and HR data analytics . Your skills enable you to support leadership and HR teams in optimizing employment costs.
With 5+ years of experience in social financial control or 7+ years in general financial oversight , including at least 2 years with payroll data controlling, you have a strong foundation in general accounting, financial diagnosis, budget control, and corporate taxation.
You can make your way in HR information systems or ERP tools with ease as demonstrated by your proven track record, analyzing employment costs and key HR financial indicators, handling data hosted in multiple sources of data such as Payspace, Xero, and other reporting platforms.
You have a sharp analytical mindset with strong numerical skills that you use regularly in your financial modeling duties using Excel, including pivot tables and macros.
Beyond technical skills, your solution-oriented ability always pushes you not to give up on an issue or helps you to propose innovative solutions to problems. You possess a cross-functional knowledge of labor law and project management, with experience in organizational audits being an added advantage. Your ability to translate financial analysis into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders will be key to your success in this role. You are known for your critical thinking and are talented for storytelling, to make financial analysis accessible to any non-financial person.
Given the nature of our operations, you must be comfortable navigating multiple currencies and legal frameworks while delivering rapid financial insights in an environment with limited internal expertise in HR cost control.

About the role
Key Responsibilities
+ Financial control & analysis: Oversee financial control processes, ensuring budget accuracy and compliance across various business functions.
+ Payroll cost control & analysis: Track, analyze, and report on payroll expenses, ensuring compliance with multiple legal frameworks.
+ Data management & financial reporting : Work with diverse financial tools and platforms to consolidate and analyze HR financial data.
+ Process optimization: Identify inefficiencies in payroll systems and propose data-driven improvements.
+ Stakeholder engagement: Educate and guide stakeholders on financial insights to drive informed decision-making.
+ Strategic insight & modeling: Develop forecasting models for HR costs, ensuring financial sustainability.
You will work closely within the Finance team with a dotted reporting line to the Chief People Officer.
Ideal candidate
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in financial control and HR data analytics. Previous experience (minimum five years) in financial control, payroll analysis, or HR data management is required. Bilingual English and French is a strong plus.

Contract, location and timing
+ Contract: full-time;
+ Location: Flexible in Africa (South Africa preferred);
+ Timing: Q2 2025;
