As a Financial Controller Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will be responsible for financial oversight of our legal entity and you will be tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm.
Job Responsibilities
Manage legal entity accounting and control on a monthly basis, including overseeing the month-end close process, handling parent/child accounting, performing equity pick-up, reviewing inter-entity breaks, and monitoring unnatural general ledger balances. Conduct month-end analytical reviews of the legal entity to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements, and prepare various reports, including contributions to the Monthly Controller’s Book, as well as legal entity and line of business financial commentary and regulatory reporting requirements. Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues while responding to ad-hoc queries. Assist in reviewing the Booking Model and continuously monitor compliance with Legal Entity Control Standards. Control intercompany activity, including providing variance commentary. Monitor the general ledger, including consolidation and netting activities. Participate in firmwide legal entity reporting projects, including infrastructure and process improvement efforts, and support other Controller initiatives as needed.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field Minimum 3 years finance/accounting – related experience Strong accounting and analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variances Superior attention to detail Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations Ability to work effectively with others, as well as act as an effective liaison with all business partners within the lines of business or legal entity chains Strong initiative and work ethic Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills requiredPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
