Company DescriptionPrecious Homesis seeking a Financial Controller - Maternity Cover 9-12 monthsto work in ourHead Officebased in Palmers Green London.Job DescriptionMonday to Friday 0830 - 1700 45,000.00 per annum The kind of activities you&aposll oversee include Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management Responsible for all journals and final balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems Assist with production of statutory accounts for the Group and its various subsidiary companies and associated companies as and when required, in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the legislation of the countries in which they operate Provide relevant and timely financial information to the main board to ensure a balanced and objective assessment of the Groups strategy and objectives Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans with continued monitoring and review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders Effectively manage the working capital components of the Group with specific attention to debtors, creditors and cash balances Active management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings Weekly reporting of staffagency hours spent by each site and monitoring against budgets and rotas. Overseeing monthly processing of payroll and payment to employees Review and update, in line with good practice, the Groups internal control environment and produce a Controls and Procedures manual for review and adoption by management Assist the FD in respect of periodic reports to the Groups Auditors explaining the processes adopted and undertaken by management to keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational and compliance controls Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process whilst embedding a risk management culture throughout the organisation Support the FD in the development and execution of the Groups taxation strategy Ensure returns for Corporation Tax and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with. To take a lead role in SAGE and maintenance of the accounting information thereon. Management Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Manage outsourced functions Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department&aposs goals and objectives Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary and associated companies, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures. Oversee accounts team to ensure procedures are being followed and records are kept up to date. Transactions Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly Ensure payroll is processed in a timely manner Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis Maintain the chart of accounts Maintain an orderly accounting filing system Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions Reporting Issue timely and complete financial statements Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management Provide for a system of management cost reports Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Compliance Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants Comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSBSC Hons in accountancy, mathematical or business related subjects.Qualified accountant or working towards ACCA CIMA KEY SKILLSGood oral and written communications skillsExcellent analytical and numerical abilitiesAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamAdditional InformationPrecious Homes is an equal opportunities employerSorry, this job has expired
