Your Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the financial advisor to support NA customer segments, e-Commerce, and NA consolidations, reporting to the Head of Science & Lab Solutions Global Commercial Controlling.


As a Financial Controlling Business Partner, you will provide comprehensive support in all financial aspects. This includes monthly financial analysis and reporting, preparation and monitoring of rolling forecasts, and the implementation and streamlining of forecast processes and systems to enhance margin insights and drive improvement. Additionally, you will support commercial teams in executing strategies and key initiatives across the region, leveraging digital reporting and visualization solutions to enhance business insights. You will also be responsible for resource allocation decisions and streamlining routine processes through shared service resources. Furthermore, you will engage in strategic business topics, business cases, and projects aimed at advancing our eCommerce platform, driving eCommerce activities, increasing return on investments, and supporting cross-functional projects.

 

Business Partnering/Analytics:

Provide detailed insight into sales, profitability, pricing, spending, etc to meet financial KPIs.Offer sales and trade margin analysis by portfolio, region, and customer segment.Utilize digital solutions and financial dashboards to monitor and track financial targets.Support capital requests/projects, strategy development (SD process), and investment analysis.Actively participate in identifying, dimensioning, and measuring Revenue Initiatives.Prepare North America sales consolidationPrepare and present business update presentations to senior management.

 Forecasting/Planning:

Preparation of Forecast for both sales (product and customer segment views) Reviews forecast inputs for accuracy and reasonableness.Streamline the Forecast for efficiency.Maintain forecast accuracy to ensure achievement of targets and planning of resources.

 

Reporting and Closing:

Provide timely monthly management reporting including sales and spend commentaries comparing actuals versus forecast/prior year/plan.  Responsible to highlight areas of business drivers/concerns to business partner. Analyze spending and Headcount reports to assist management in controlling cost.Ad hoc reporting and projects as required.

 

Process Excellence/Internal Controls:

Develops and documents standard financial processes, with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices regionally and globally; improves the efficiency of the Controlling function.Interacts with all other departments and CFO, while ensuring that Accounting & Controlling best practice knowledge is being leveraged across the Company.Maintains the appropriate environment of internal financial controls in all aspects of the business unit to ensure that financial statements are free from material error. Ensures the consistent implementation of the Company’s accounting policies, with attention to areas requiring judgment and estimation. 

 

The preference is this will be a hybrid role based out of our location in Burlington, MA. There may be some consideration for remote on the East Coast.

 

Who you are:

 

Minimum Qualifications

5 or more years of experience in controlling or other finance roles

 

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication skills in English University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA, CFA or MBA is a plusStrong understanding and application of financial principles, concepts, practices, and standardsGood business acumen and judgement; knowledge of products and industry trends Strong abilities to interact with stakeholders and to create network across departments and geographies Experience working in a highly matrixed, cross-functional, and international environment.Strong systems background and proficiency in TM1, MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and advanced usage of Dashboarding tools (Tableau, etc.).A learning and growth mindset, with a passion to solve problems and convey complex concepts at an executive level.Change agent, willing to evaluate the status quo and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Good at workload prioritization and efficiency improvement, and resource management.Proactive in driving and delivering high-impact results through individual and team effort.

 

Location in North America, preferably East coast
