Patient Financial Counselor
Seven Hills Hospital is a leading provider for acute inpatient and outpatient services for Southern Nevada. We are a growing, private, 134-bed psychiatric hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 11-17) who are suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. Our patients recover at our new, state-of-the art medical facility in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada. Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and is located just 7 miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip and a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Mead.

Join the team of highly dedicated professionals. We are presently looking for a Full Time Patient Financial Counselor who will report to the Business Office Director and be responsible for gathering and transmitting insurance/billing information to Admissions Department and Business Office; counseling with patients regarding their financial rights and obligations, making payment arrangements when necessary; prepares administrative and charity adjustments. May require to work some weekends.
Key Functions:
Responsible for auditing the admission packets and for the verification of benefits and all patient demographic information entered into the patient accounting system. Financial counseling patients and collecting any out of pocket (deductibles, copays, exhausted days, etc). Provide information to the patients regarding their benefits and financial obligations. Completing financial disclosure paperwork with patients that request assistance. Verifying via Equifax patient income and expenses. Complete adjustment forms for any charity or administrative adjustments for approval. Complete promissory notes for patients that request payment arrangements. Attend Flash daily to obtain information on all scheduled discharged patients. Update on a daily basis the upfront collection log, charity log, and administrative adjustment log. Review with BOD on a weekly basis. Gathers and interprets data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Must have at least 2 years related experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Computer Literacy in Word, Excel and Internet.
