The responsibilities of the Analyst will include, but are not limited to:

Performing AML alert/case reviews, seeking to mitigate risks associated to financial crimes and suspicious activityApplying research and analytic techniques to digest complex information sets in order to make logical and adequately supported determinations in regard to unusual and potentially suspicious activityApplying consistent and well-documented analysis consistent with industry standards to ensure success in the following daily efforts of Transaction MonitoringConducting an end-to-end and meticulous review of potential illegal or suspicious activityCompleting a time-sensitive and meticulous analysis of each instance of potential Anti-Money Laundering activity and/or suspicious financial activity across multiple jurisdictions and countriesAssessment of customer profiles and client data to identify whether activity is consistent with typical purchasing/payment activity, including Acceptable Use Policy adherence and Know Your Customer effortsDocumenting findings in narrative style format, in the manual and automated process case management system and prepare updates to Project Managers / Team Leads as appropriateMake determinations for potential Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filingsConduct Quality Control checks on completed cases

What You Will Need:

5 days in office requiredUniversity/college degree and minimum 2+ years of prior relevant experience. However, relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degreeKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance)Experience working with manual and system generated alerts/cases for the detection of potentially suspicious activityKnowledge of US reporting requirements as it relates to suspicious activity reports and cash transaction activityAbility to detect and mitigate red flags for potential financial crime, including money laundering, terrorism financing activities and fraud, as it appears in transactional data1 or more years of Quality Control / Quality Assurance experience supporting TMS alerts, and / or financial regulatory complianceStrong experience using Excel for reporting

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Bachelor's degree from a university/college3+ years of experience assessing and reviewing system generated and manual AML alerts and/or escalations/SAR write-ups for potentially suspicious activityExperience with AML risks associated with cryptocurrenciesCAMS certificationSpecific experience with cryptocurrency products as a user and / or experience working in the digital currency industryEnd to end understanding of Transaction Monitoring/ KYC/ Screening/ Fraud Operations/Jurisdiction specific SAR filing/Narrative from documentary and non-documentary verification and as per relevant policy, nature of business, source of wealth/funds, and customer screening against the watchlist of Sanctions, PEP, and adverse mediaAbility to conduct detailed investigations using vendors and open sources to remediate compliance alerts and to independently research, analyze, and recommend solutions to close open items and discrepanciesExperience processing financial crime risk management typologies as related to brokerage and virtual currency exchangesExperience in using various risk case management systemsThe ability to excel within a team environment and independentlyEffective oral and written communication skills
