Financial Crimes Investigator (Corporate Investigations - Transactional Fraud)

Located within Enterprise Fraud Services, our Fraud Investigations team (also known as Corporate Investigations) conducts investigations of both confirmed fraud and suspicious activity requiring high-risk review, ensures losses are apportioned to the correct line of business and, where applicable, completes SAR filing OR Suspicious Activity Reporting.

Job Profile:

We are seeking a motivated, preferably experienced individual to join our financial institution as a Financial Crimes Investigator, within our Corporate Investigations Team. This individual will focus on investigating transactional fraud daily and will be required to meet our regulatory SLAs as defined by case assignments. Our ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in relation to thresholds regarding filing a SAR, as well as have the ability to be an active learner, self-disciplined and accountable.

Essential Job Functions

Investigating suspicious transactions and/or activity to determine if Key needs to file a Suspicious Activity Report in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.Demonstrate strong investigative/analytical skills and be able to formulate and clearly articulate a supportable rationale behind the decisioning of the case investigation while complying with departmental procedures.Prioritize case assignments using a risk-based approach to optimize bench management while effectively driving down potential fraud losses.Partner with the Lines of Business (LOB) to clarify and document risk factors associated with a client or banking relationship and/or resolve matters where the supporting documentation does not adequately describe risk associated with a client.Develop good rapport and communication with Compliance/LOB partners.Identify and escalate significant case investigations and determine when to loop in stakeholders.Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and/or efficiency of policies, procedures and/or processes and make the appropriate recommendations to management.Decisioning client relationships congruent with Key’s risk appetite.Works independently with some supervision from manager.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalentOne year of investigative, relevant banking, customer contact and/or law enforcement experienceStrong oral and written communication skillsAnalytical abilityProven organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in financial crimes investigations of transactional fraudBachelors' degree in business administration, criminal justice, intelligence studies or other related field of studyRelevant Certifications (i.e. Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist - CAMS certification, Certified Fraud Examiner - CFE or other accredited related industry certification)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $53,000 to $60,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
