The Financial Impact Assessment (FIA) Lead will play a crucial role within the Actuarial and Finance Transformation Programme, focusing on assessing and validating the financial impacts of changes in actuarial models and systems. This role involves supporting and engaging with the modelling team to understand and justify movements in results, ensuring alignment with internal governance processes.
What will you be doing?
Be engaged in conversations with the modelling team to discuss expected impacts on results during analysis and design work. This includes early identification of potential changes, errors, and alignment of legacy differences.
Through the bridging process:
Collaborate with the modelling team to understand changes in the model and the associated movements in results.
Review documentation and results provided by the modelling team.
Apply actuarial judgement to provide justification for movements.
Present the impacts through governance, including preparing and presenting papers to the Methodology Review Committee (MRC) for challenge and approval.
If additional testing or investigations are required, liaise with the modelling team before returning to the MRC.
Own the successful completion and approval of the Financial Impact Assessment (FIA), ensuring all necessary steps are taken to achieve a thorough and accurate assessment.
Support the management of audit relationships and processes to ensure a clean and timely sign-off.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including Actuarial Modelling, Actuarial Reporting, and Finance to ensure alignment and effective communication.
The ideal candidate should have sufficient experience and actuarial knowledge to review the impacts and movements in results, determine their reasonableness, and navigate the governance process with senior stakeholders to gain approval.
