Financial Integrity Manager

  

Mission:

The Financial Integrity Manager is responsible for leading and managing IDEA’s financial integrity efforts across all reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial data. This role will oversee the preparation and validation of financial reports, manage responses to donor and philanthropic reporting requests, and guide the narrative of IDEA’s financial story for internal and external stakeholders. The manager will serve as a key leader within the finance team, supporting informed decision-making through robust data governance and high standards of financial reporting.

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:    

 Up to 20% of the time during the busiest parts of the year. 

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

Lead IDEA’s Financial Narrative and ReportingOversee the development and presentation of financial narratives that reflect IDEA’s achievements, strategic goals, and financial health, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all external-facing materials.Guide team members in crafting customized financial reports and narratives to support donor and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with organizational values and priorities.Manage processes to produce clear, data-backed insights that support strategic financial communication to leadership and donors. Supervise Donor and Philanthropic Financial ReportingLead the preparation of financial reports tailored for donors and philanthropic stakeholders, ensuring that all outputs meet compliance and reporting standards.              Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data, analyze trends, and deliver reports that strengthen IDEA’s relationships with funding partners.Ensure timely completion of donor-specific financial requests, delegating tasks as appropriate to maintain a smooth workflow and high-quality reporting. Manage Data Accuracy and Financial Report AuthenticationDirect the validation and authentication of IDEA’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, implementing rigorous checks to ensure data reliability.Lead auditing protocols across financial data warehouses and automated processes, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.Establish procedures for ongoing quality control, ensuring IDEA’s financial reports meet both internal and external compliance standards. Enforce Financial Data Governance and Integrity StandardsDevelop and implement financial data governance policies that comply with state and federal regulations, managing adherence across all finance team activities.Oversee data integration efforts, ensuring that information from multiple sources is standardized, accurate, and aligned with IDEA’s compliance standards.Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to improve data accessibility, guiding the design of financial dashboards and ensuring data integrity for strategic decision-making. Drive Data-Driven Financial Strategy and Reporting EnhancementsManage the development and deployment of analytical tools and forecasting models, equipping the FP&A team to support strategic planning, budget management, and financial trend analysis.Lead the transition of manual data processes into automated, centralized dashboards, streamlining data access for IDEA’s finance team and improving efficiency.Monitor financial metrics to enhance visibility into budget variances, cash flow, and forecasting, providing actionable insights to executive leadership. Supervise Monthly Financial Reporting and Dashboard MaintenanceDirect the creation and maintenance of monthly financial dashboards, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for real-time financial planning and analysis.Oversee data integrity efforts across reporting functions, ensuring consistent quality in all financial reports and data visualizations. Ensure High Standards in Financial Data Requests and Stakeholder CommunicationManage the response process for ad-hoc data requests, setting standards to ensure timely and accurate support for internal and external stakeholders.Lead the finance team in establishing protocols for addressing data inquiries, providing consistent, high-quality service and fostering IDEA’s reputation as a reliable financial resource.Oversee training for team members on effective communication and data request fulfillment, promoting high standards in customer satisfaction and responsiveness. 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data visualization, and analytical tools, including PowerBI and Excel.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Tyler Munis) and strong SQL skills.Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with experience in financial storytelling and engaging executive stakeholders.

They develop and deliver messages that align with organizational goals, ensuring that their communication strategies enhance team alignment and strategic execution. 

 

Additional Skills:

Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse group of individuals across multiple regions.Strong computer literacy that includes an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data (charts, graphs, etc.).Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. 

Required experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred. 

Preferred experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years in financial planning and analysis, financial data management, or related field, with a focus on data integrity, reporting, and compliance.Prior management experience in a financial integrity or FP&A role, with demonstrated leadership skills.

This is a sedentary position.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
