Your Role

The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite Management Liability, Professional Indemnity and Cyber policies transacted via Chubb’s market facing platforms and provide excellent service levels to brokers.

Your Responsibilities:

Financial 

Deliver profitable growth of new business production and renewals (rate and retention).

Underwriting Process / Analysis

Underwrite referrals within authority statement in accordance with the guidelines for new business, renewals and endorsements.  Make recommendations for acceptance or declination of risks including those that exceed authority. Recommend account trade off decisions. Assists manager in providing input on portfolio analysis, profitability, premium planning, market and environment analysis, process and systems effectiveness and efficiency, post acceptance monitoring etc. Maintain awareness of claim activity and liaise with stakeholders  

Production/Producer Relationships

Establish relationships with key and new producers identifying opportunities including scheme and portfolio transfers.  Ensure stakeholders are kept up to date with regular communications.

Service

Provide responsive service on underwriting referrals  Take responsibility for quality of responses and referral turnaround times.

Communication

Maintains open communication with internal departments on risks, coverage’s, exposures, service problems and losses

Training, Administration and Compliance

Complete all training, administration and conduct risk requirements by due date.
  At least 1 year of insurance or underwriting experience.Understands pricing techniques.Understands the underwriting appetites of the other departments and how those relate to interdepartmental accounts.Understands the broker selection and appointment process.Understands portfolio analysis / underwriting, in particular the renewals process
