About the role What you need to know: The Financial Lines Underwriter will be responsible for identifying and underwriting profitable accounts within underwriting limits under the guidance from the Head of Financial Lines / Manage assigned accounts ensuring efficient workflow in the line of operational procedures whilst managing and maintaining and grow relationships with brokers. + Assessing risk (underwriting), servicing accounts and developing the FL product capabilities. + Underwrite risks within underwriting authority through a rigorous risk assessment process which includes consideration of loss control, claims history and other appropriate risk management functions. + Risk logging, worksheets and rater tool application + Ensure adherence to all underwriting guidelines and referrals + Transacting and filing of accounts in accordance with Company standards. + Ensure adherence to audit requirements + Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements + Manage allocated portfolio accounts achieving profitable and sustainable growth. Constantly assessing overall performance of the portfolio and make recommendations for adjustments where needed. + Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with brokers and clients + Adhere to internal SLA’s to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of agreed customer service standards Instructing and monitoring the issuing of Policy Documents + Expense Control + Manage all expenses within budget. Continuously work to reduce the expense ratio through constant attention to efficiencies and opportunities to maximize productivity through streamlining of processes. Experience: Insurance experience / Financial Lines underwriting experience is a must. Knowledge: + Thorough knowledge of the Financial Lines Insurance industry / Middle East and North Africa market experience. + Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills + Strong Entrepreneurial Skills + Presentation Skills + Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated creative solutions.
