SALARY RANGES: GS12: $90,662 - $117,856 GS13: $107,809 - $140,155 Responsibilities You will prepare and review program budget exhibits and documents for completeness and accuracy. You will advise on budget formulation and estimates to support plans and programs. You will review and evaluate budget requests, and control and report on obligations and expenditures. You will perform cost-benefit analyses to recommend, defend, or justify budget decisions. Recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management You will prepare comprehensive financial management data, listings, reports, and metrics regarding the status of funds. You will monitor and ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting, budget execution, and financial management reports. You will provide guidance on the development or revision of financial management policies and program budget exhibits. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for acquiring and using funds. You will interpret and apply financial management regulations, develop and determine budgetary policies, and implement legal controls over approved budgets. You will provide financial support to management, ensuring compliance with policy and budget. You will assist in resolving complex financial problems. You will analyze large data sets to maintain financial data accurately. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-13: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: formulating budgets and estimates, analyzing costs, finding alternative methods of financial management, developing budgetary policies to support fleet readiness. GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or evaluating budget estimates, interpreting budget policies and practices to support the mission of fleet readiness. Additional Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or other financial/data analytics applications. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to solve complex financial problems. Experience in analyzing large data sets and accurately maintaining financial data. Comfortable working under supervision and independently, as well as in virtual and in-person teams. Mastery of budgeting and financing principles, practices, laws, and regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This is a career ladder position, with a full performance level of GS-13.
