Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will formulate, present, and defend budget and cost estimates. You will review and evaluate budget requests. You will advise on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities associated with contract and labor administration within the department. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Examining documentation for accuracy and compliance; 2) Maintaining and reconciling accounts and accounting data; 3) Preparing, downloading, and communicating varying daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Financial Administration and Program Series 0501 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Formulating, presenting, and defending budget and cost estimates; 2) Reviewing and evaluating budget requests; 3) Identifying, analyzing, and resolving a range of budgetary problems such as development of alternative methods of funding; 3) Interpreting and appropriately applying budgetary policies. Education The standard for this series allows eligibility through meeting either Education below or Experience listed under Qualifications. NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. NOTE: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Several vacancies may be filled.
