FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Responsibilities You will assist in the performance of functions such as: formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities; review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will provide information about, and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations. You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers. You will compile, analyze, and summarize financial and/or budget information related to assigned areas of a financial program. You will perform studies or assist others with full scale studies. You will be required to have detailed knowledge and understanding of financial, management, and automated systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing financial management duties such as evaluating budgets; formulating financial reports; utilizing purchase request financial systems and implementing accounting and budgetary policies and practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows: Must possess a Master's or equivalent degree OR Must possess two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR Must possess a LL.B. or J.D., if related Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
