Strategy & Finance (S&F) Financial Management Chapter
The teams across the S&F Financial Management Chapter provide a wide range of financial management services that guide and empower our business. We have several key relationships supporting Telstra business operations to corporate leadership, our customers, our people and shareholders.
Focus of the Role
As a Financial Management Chapter Lead, your role is two-fold where you will combine your deep expertise in the Finance segment with people leadership. Through your passion for leadership you connect, engage, and develop your chapter members so they deliver value aligned to Telstra’s strategic roadmap.Through your mission initiative work, you will deliver financial management expertise and analysis to support the Telstra’s financial strategic direction and enable the monitoring, tracking, and reporting on financial performance (including profitability, expense and cash) of Telstra and its functional units.Important note: the role will be based in our office in Makati City, Metro Manila and will be in a HYBRID working environment.What We Offer

Chapter Lead
Modelling a culture of collaboration and continuous learning to support development of domain and interpersonal capability within the Chapter.Coaching and developing chapter members within Financial Management to enable them to deliver high quality financial and commercial analysis that strategically impacts objectives and initiatives, enabling accurate modelling, due diligence, risk assessment and commercial decision making, by providing support and feedback along the way.Building strong, trusting relationships within teams that enable a high performing team culture aligned to living our valuesProviding clarity on performance, behavioural goals and expectations to your chapter team to ensure that they can contribute to both mission and chapter activityActively maintaining a talent pipeline for the chapter to ensure that workforce strategy objectives are achieved.Managing resource allocation, including recruitment and/or selection, to ensure capability required is available and resourcing issues are mitigated, in collaboration with Group Owners.Applying commercial acumen to ensure chapter and resourcing priorities are achieved within allocated budget targets.Collaborating with Chapter Area Lead and other Chapter Leads to determine and implement tools/common practices to be used by Chapter Members Providing clarity to chapter members on current and future capability requirements to enable them to own and drive their development so they can continually grow and add value in different ways.Using timely feedback conversations to inspire chapter member performance and the achievement of challenging goalsActing as a champion and exemplifying the ways of working mindsets and practices for all teams in which you participateIdentifying opportunities to innovate and optimise financial management practices/approaches to improve efficiency and effectivenessMission/Initiative Work
Support and liaise between business stakeholders & IT project teamsExperience in financial analysis, forecasting and business partneringSupport month end activities for TEI (Telstra Enterprise International) including audit compliance Wade into the complexity and see problems as opportunitiesAbout You
To be successful in the role, you should have:
CA or CPA fully qualifiedSolid hands-on experience on SAP (i.e., system implementation)Experienced in the Agile Ways of WorkingProven experience in Finance ManagementExtensive experience in Commercial Accounting and Forecasting with proven expertise in Technical and Statutory accountingExperience across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow (IRS15/16 knowledge is preferred)People Management – strong leadership skills with a genuine commitment to building capabilitiesExcellent coaching skills to develop and empower team members to deliver exceptional service by conducting regular formal and informal coaching sessionsStrong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detailsProven demonstration of a growth mindset with tenacity for problem solving and willingness to seek information and appropriately challenge status quoExcellent written and verbal communication skills which can be applied to a range of different stakeholders, including external auditorsStrong stakeholder management, proactive and curious, organised, keen eye for detail, continuous improvement mindset, proven ability to curate the story behind the numbers, systematic and process orientated, skilled in Excel and PowerPointPassion for numbers and improving financial performanceWhen you join our team, you become part of a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone is respected, valued and celebrated.
