KBR requires a Financial Manager, located in the Dayton, OH, area to support the Simulators Division of the Air Combat Systems Directorate.  This organization acquires and modernizes training systems to enhance lethality and readiness sharpening the warfighters bite.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes program activities such as acquisition program planning, proposal pricing, financial management, cost analysis, management techniques, documentation requirements, or network analysisExhibits capability in areas of production planning documents, preparing and utilizing databases for cost analysis and financial management and maintenance of program security requirements in cognizance with ongoing program changesCompiles and reviews budgets against actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, and other data sources to control budgets and provide proper financial decisionsAids in developing and implementing strategies to achieve program objectives safely and within agreed time, cost, technical, quality and other performance criteriaProducts are generally acquisition strategies/plans and other statutory/regulatory documentation (writing, editing, cross-walking, and compliance checking), briefings and white papers supporting acquisition decisions at each of the milestonesParticipates in the control of costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control systemPerform analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelinesParticipates in the preparation of budgets and schedules for all contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analysis such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysisEnsures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the governmentIncorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselinesDevelop plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for several major portions of a programSupports the customer program manager in executing his/her mission as single point of integrative responsibility needed to ensure that everything in the program is managed effectively to ensure a successful project outcomeAlso provides support to the PM in program progress reviews and other performance reviewsMay also assist in creating/briefing higher level executive agency system acquisition or program summary reportsAnalyzes business or operating procedures to devise the most efficient methods of accomplishing workPlans study of work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis. Gathers and organizes information on problems or procedures including present operating proceduresAnalyzes data gathered, develops information and considers all available solutions or alternate methods of proceedingOrganizes and documents findings of studies and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures or organizational changesConfers with personnel concerned to assure smooth functioning of newly implemented systems or proceduresMay install new systems and train personnel in applicationMay conduct operational effectiveness reviews to ensure functional or project systems are applied as designed, and functioning satisfactorilyMay develop or update functional or operating manuals outlining established methods of performing work in accordance with organizational policyRecognized as an expert within the GroupAnticipates internal and external business challenges and/or regulatory/ compliance issues; recommends process, product or service improvementsSolves unique and complex problemsMentors and advises team members on projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project executionSolves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutionsImpacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general Divisional/Group policies and industry guidelinesCommunicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to influence decisionsMay have formal, but limited, supervision of team members at a department level to include verification of timecards, oversight of daily tasks/schedules and input into performance appraisalsMay have resource responsibilities such as staffing levels and budgetsMay be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility

The candidate must also have excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening). Proficiency with developing presentations (PowerPoint) and written documents for executive-level review and consumption is a mustThe candidate must be comfortable working in a very dynamic, fluid environment and enjoy problem solvingBachelor’s degree8+ years of relevant experience requiredDoD Clearance Requirement: Secret, upgrade to TS will be requiredFinancial Management Certification Level IIA self-starter with excellent communication skills is a mustEngaging with customers at both working and senior levelsHave the ability to support the customer on-base, five days a weekProblem solvingCritical and Creative ThinkingMulti-TaskingClear and well-organized communication, especially writingCandidate must possess strong computer skills and must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications

Experience working in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center or other DoD organization
