Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is seeking a dynamic Financial Manager I to oversee critical components of general accounting, financial reporting, and payroll operations. This role focuses on managing the financial processes of Spartanburg Regional Health Services District, LLC (District) and Apella Health Management, LLC (Apella), as well as affiliates and joint ventures.

Position Summary
As a Financial Manager, you will ensure compliance, accuracy, and integrity across accounting and payroll functions. Your leadership will support organizational goals while fostering a culture of excellence, accuracy, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all transactions and disbursements comply with District and Apella policies and governmental regulations. Guarantee payroll-related liabilities are correctly computed and paid. Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure payroll and accounting accuracy. Accounting Practices: Manage month-end closing activities. Prepare and report financial statements. Facilitate and coordinate external audits. Ensure tax compliance and advise management on FASB standards. Leadership & Team Development: Supervise financial analysts and payroll staff. Develop internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP. Communicate financial results and analysis to management. Additional Duties: Oversee asset and liability general ledger balances to ensure GAAP compliance. Manage other accounting and reporting activities as directed by the System Controller or CFO. Support internal and external customer needs through high-quality operations.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master of Accountancy or MBA preferred. Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience required; 12+ years preferred. Licenses/Certifications: CPA preferred. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred.

Qualifications:

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Strong communication skills to present information effectively. Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic and advanced mathematical concepts, including percentages, ratios, and proportions. Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions. Ability to handle abstract and complex scenarios effectively. Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
