This position supports the operational and functional areas of Meijer by providing financial analysis and proactive business partnering to their designated support areas. Establishes, interprets, analyzes and presents complex accounting and financial information, while working under minimum supervision.


 

What You'll be Doing:

Creates and evaluates strategic financial models of proposed business solutions (ROI’s, BVA’s, Proforma’s)Provides financial support to the operational and functional business areas they support and serves as their business partnerProvides proactive guidance on business performance and appropriate financial solutionsAnalyzes complex business and financial issues and is able to summarize and communicate them effectively to their respective internal customers.Creates and evaluates performance scorecards of different business activitiesCreates new processes and leads process improvements on large scale cross functional projectsThis job profile is not meant to be all inclusive of the responsibilities of this position; may perform other duties as assigned or required.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

Bachelor of Accounting/Finance degree5+ years of experience in accounting or financial related business experience.Exceptional communication and analytical skills.Ability to work both independently and in a team environmentThorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and its applicationAbility to perform financial modelingProject management skills a plusFluent in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and the ability to work effectively in multiple business information systemsExtensive knowledge of retail department functions and how other departments affect the Company’s financial statements
