Financial Planning and Analysis Controller
This Position is for an Operational/Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Controller of a multi-region US market area containing solid waste collection/hauling companies and post-collection disposal facilities. The incumbent will perform the role of a financial business partner to the Area Vice President while leading, supporting, and developing the Region Controller team.



 

Essential Functions:

Ensure execution of and compliance with company policies and procedures

Ensure adequacy of controls over business functions

Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness in financial results and statistics

Ensure alignment of Area objectives with company goals

Develop, communicate, and assist in implementation of Area goals

Growth and development of the area and region teams

Evaluation and analysis of opportunities and challenges

Strategic planning and measurement of actions

Support with integration of acquisitions

Ensure completion and effectiveness of monthly forecasts and process

Manage the area annual budget process

Computer Knowledge:

Strong IT skills in the implementation and operation/usage of major business systems including order entry and accounting/finance/budgeting

Very strong personal computing skills with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word.  Microsoft Excel skills must be above average to highly skilled.

Knowledge/experience in Workday, Cognos, Tower, and TRUX a plus.

Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:

Accounting/Business BA or BS Degree from a four (4) year college or university

Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience as an operations focused controller in a medium to large business environment ($250 million annual sales or larger).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possess excellent leadership, presentation, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to focus on details and solve problems

Ability to work well with others

Strong organizational skills

Passion to learn and grow

Physical/Mental Demands:

Ability to travel (US and Canada)

Ability to lead a team

Ability to make presentations at various management levels inside and outside of the company

Working Conditions:

Work in indoor office environment 90-95% of the time.

Travel required.  Up to 40% at times.
