Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for the University Finance & Administration (UFA) organization.
This role develops, maintains, and troubleshoots financial reports and dashboards using the Oracle suite of reporting tools (BI Publisher, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Smart View (using Excel Plug-in), and Oracle SQL) and Tableau. The analyst is responsible for accurately extracting and validating financial data, resolving reporting-related help desk inquiries, and ensuring timely responses to operational users.The role manages incoming report requests, tracks issues in Jira or ServiceNow, performs routine testing related to Oracle system updates, and ensures that documentation is up to date. The analyst collaborates with OIT and end users to clarify requirements and provide reliable reporting solutions that support day-to-day financial operations. While this role will primarily support ERP reporting, this role may also support Tableau-based reporting needs across UFA.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Collaborates with stakeholders to clarify reporting needs and document functional requirements. Translates reporting requirements into clear technical specifications in collaboration with OIT and end-users. Develops and maintains ERP reports using Oracle ERP reporting tools such as OTBI, BI Publisher, OAC, Smart View, or FRS; support dashboard needs as required. Maintains documentation and a strong working knowledge of data flow within the Oracle ERP and Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and integration across modules (e.g., General Ledger, Projects (PPM), Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management). Conducts data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of report outputs. Understands and reviews business processes and translate them into BI reporting solutions. Manages and prioritizes incoming report requests using Jira/ServiceNow to ensure timely resolution. Performs testing of reports during Oracle quarterly updates to ensure continued functionality. Maintains report documentation, folder structures, and security settings. Troubleshoots reporting errors, data issues, and access problems; escalates technical issues when appropriate.
