About the team

We are looking for a Financial Risk and Reporting Senior Associate to join our high performing internal finance team at PwC CI on an 18-month contract.

Our Financial Risk and Reporting team is an integral part of the Finance and Procurement function. They ensure robust financial management and compliance, oversee financial reporting and mitigate financial risks. They also support maintaining the integrity of financial operations, are proactive, honest and collaborative.

Job Summary

The Finance Senior Associate within the Financial Risk and Reporting Team is a key support for outsourced financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring all outsourced activities are aligned with company policies and internal controls, while also driving improvements in efficiency and accuracy.

This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the organisational financial success by ensuring robust financial processes and seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in managing outsourced services and a proven track record in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Manage the performance of outsourced Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payment approvals, and compliance with company policies.

Act as primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Liaise between outsourced providers and internal finance teams to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues.

Ensure that external providers are up to date on any changes in company policies, procedures, or compliance requirements.

Regularly assess the accounts payable process with the outsourced provider, identifying opportunities for streamlining and enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Accounts Receivable

Manage the performance of outsourced Accounts Receivable function, ensuring the timely cash allocations and reconciliation of outstanding client balances.

Coordinate with the outsourced team to resolve any client billing disputes, payment issues, or queries effectively and professionally

Monitor cash flow related to accounts receivable, working with internal teams and outsourced providers to manage aging accounts and collections.

Support the generation of receivables reports.

Financial reporting

Coordinate with the outsourced team to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Assist with analysing financial report variances and work with the outsourced team to reconcile discrepancies between actuals and forecasts or budgets.

Assist with any additional tasks or projects related to financial reporting and outsourcing as requested by the team lead or senior management.

Financial Operational Risk

Provide training and guidance to outsourced teams as needed to improve their understanding of company processes, systems, and expectations.

Identify and escalate any operational or financial risks arising from outsourced activities and work with internal teams to develop mitigation strategies.

Liaise between outsourced providers and internal finance teams to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues.

Oversee General Ad-hoc queries

Oversee outsourced hours and time transfers

Support periodic audits and risk assessments for outsourced financial processes, ensuring that any identified risks are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications & Certifications

Qualified accountant with recognised accounting body.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, with attention to detail and a focus on deadlines.

Able to demonstrate application of accounting standards with focus on financial reporting and analysis.

Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Knowledge of financial controls.

Desirable skills

Familiarity with accounting software’s including SAP and Sage

PowerBI experience

Travel Requirements:

You will be required to make short trips from time to time to the firm’s office in Guernsey and possibly also the UK Firm’s offices in London.
