JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Risk Specialist to oversee our accounts receivable processes, manage delinquent accounts, and mitigate financial risks associated with operating an online reservation platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring, reporting, and taking action on delinquent debts, along with excellent communication and customer service skills. A proven track record of improving cash flow and reducing bad debt is essential. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, as you will work closely with internal teams and directly with external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Financial Risk Specialist you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of the following key pillars of work:
 

Manage Account Delinquency Process: Monitor monthly program invoices, oversee and take action on accounts who are not timely with their payments collaborating cross functionally with the account management team.

Delinquent Account Management: Work directly with accounts that fall delinquent to quickly develop and implement strategies to bring them back to current status.

Manage delinquent Plan Adherence: Once a plan has been established to bring an account back current, ensure all commitments are documented and followed. Swiftly communicate and take action on any missed commitments.

Financial Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks related to accounts receivable, operating an online booking platform, online CC processing and other financial operations. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to bad debt and improve overall financial health.

Assess, develop, present, and implement recommendations: Conduct thorough assessments, develop actionable recommendations, present findings to stakeholders, and lead the implementation of approved strategies to drive organizational improvements.Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collection efforts. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve billing issues and improve customer satisfaction.

Innovation: Continuously reviews key processes and behaviors seeking opportunities to optimize and reduce complexity.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, sales, Accounting, Finance or similar field2+ years AR collection workflow implementation experience and proficiencyProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office SuiteUnderstanding and knowledge of financial risks associated with online booking tools: Stripe, or Other CC Processing operationsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailStrong communication abilities- verbal & writtenExperience working cross-functionally and interacting with all levels of leadership Ability to utilize user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisionsProven track record of driving results and scaling initiatives

Work Environment

Hybrid – expected 3 days in office

The pay range for Minnesota is $55,500 to $81,400 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
