About the team and the role:
At the core of everything we do, we ensure that eBay’s customers are front-and-center in all our strategic decisions. Offering relevant and compelling financial services propositions to our buyers and sellers is core to eBay’s purpose, and this role plays an instrumental role in uncovering insights that fuel innovation in products, services, features, etc. As the Manager of Consumer Insights in the Global Consumer Insights (GCI) team, you will partner closely with Financial Services across the innovation and GTM lifecycle, including target and whitespace identification, value prop development and evaluation, naming and comms evaluation, as well as post-launch feedback and KPI monitoring. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for customer-centricity who understands the importance of consumer insights and how they can play a strategic role in organizations!
What you will accomplish:
Lead Financial Services insights projects, focused on new and potential buyers.
Show up as the consumer in the room in all relevant business forums
Collaborate with internal partners within the Financial Services, Research Ops and other cross-functional teams to design and implement strategic research (qualitative & quantitative) based on consumer needs and priority growth opportunities
Manage all aspects of the market research lifecycle (problem identification, methodology/study design, execution, analysis, reporting and communication)
Synthesize research findings to provide the Financial Services team with objective, comprehensive consumer insights and actionable recommendations
Present research findings with confidence, transparency, and impact to senior business partners and teams across the organization
Proactively recommend new and innovative market research methodologies, tools, and platforms to address business needs
Be a thought partner to global cross-functional counterparts across Global Consumer Insights, Product, Strategy, Marketing, BU and Markets, influencing initiatives through consumer-centric insights
What you will bring:
5+ years of relevant working experience in consumer insights, market research, or related fields. Experience in the financial services, fintech and/or payments space preferred but not required
Excellent analytical, decision-making, influencing, and problem-solving skills
A love of the consumer, and an evidence-based approach to decision making
Experience implementing and managing a wide range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
Ability to develop strong professional relationships and influence peers, senior leaders, and c-suite executives
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, skilled at breaking down and structuring logical solutions to solve complex problems
Experience working in global, matrixed environments
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$84,800 - $146,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
