Department Overview:
The Financial Sponsors Group (‘FSG’) is a global team covering ING’s largest financial sponsor (private capital) relationships by income and exposure. Our primary responsibility is to manage these relationships, coordinating across products and geographies to explore and maximise cross-buy opportunities. This involves regular interaction with Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Fund Finance, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and other Sector teams. Added to this, FSG has a secondary portfolio management function with responsibility for allocation and performance of capital, as well as tracking share of wallet and leading reciprocity discussions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
Client coverage:
Undertake central relationship management role for FSG clients with ability to have strategic discussions with senior stakeholdersDrive selected client relationships with stakeholders on client side on a portfolio of clients to be allocatedLiaise laterally and vertically with stakeholders, peers and juniors to drive the client dialogue, owning the relationship with the clientIdentify and drive cross-buy opportunitiesSupport transaction execution where appropriateSupport commercial and credit committee applicationsOrganize and set up internal deal teams to drive and coordinate originationSupport Directors and MDs where necessary (e.g. client meeting preparation, marketing materials, leading an element of cross sell on their clients etc)Portfolio and data management:
Develop account plans and performance reviews for your clients, and support senior team members on theirs, in order to allocate scarce resources in the right relationships and optimize portfolio management with the objective to deliver on KPIsSupport KYC onboarding and remediation efforts as part of overall client relationshipInternal Management:
Lead internal reporting presentations, with support from junior staffLead FSG input for any regulatory outreachIn close cooperation with Acquisition Finance and Corporate Finance, help to set the strategy for, and drive the execution of, ING’s business with your clientsMentor junior team membersCandidate Profile
Experience/Knowledge:
Knowledge of relevant financial sponsor product suite with appetite to develop in particular fieldsPreferably network of existing relationships within financial sponsor universeMinimum 5 years experience primarily in investment or corporate banking, or in other product areas relevant to private capitalCredit risk experience is a plusPersonal Competencies:
