About the Position: This is an Army Working Capital Fund (AWCF) Team Leader role, serving as a Financial Systems Analyst in the Managerial Accounting Directorate at TACOM G-8. TACOM is located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan which is in Detroit's largest suburb located about 15 miles north of downtown. Responsibilities Identifies and resolves problems associated with all the interfaces and interrelationships between financial systems, and accounting functions Keeps current on and interprets guidance issued by higher authority on reporting requirements and coordinates with accountants, supervisors and team leaders to assure that automated processes are adjusted as required. Ensures that the general ledger is updated and reconciled and agrees with subsidiary ledgers and records, both automated and manual. Implements, monitors, and reports Command financial metrics to assure that government resources are used effectively and efficiently. Performs joint reviews across the Command and with DFAS to ensure procedural compliance, and that corrective actions required are implemented. Provides managerial accounting advice and assistance across the Command. Participates in formal briefings or equivalent meetings to provide accounting advice and assistance when needed. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Reviewing financial management laws, policies, and/or regulations regarding finance that will impact command; (2) Review reports prior to issuance to assure that reports reflect appropriate and consistent data and that abnormal conditions do not exist or that if they do exist, appropriate explanations are provided (3) Resolving problems between automated system interfaces and other such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; and (4) Preparing financial reports for review by management. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Concepts, Policies and Principles of Finance Financial Analysis Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
