Summary About the Position: This announcement is for a Financial Systems Analyst, GS-0501-12 position in the Resource Management Office, Finance and Accounting Branch. This position is located in Rock Island, IL. Responsibilities Apply administrative knowledge of accounting theories, practices and methods in relation to various information technology requirements. Study procedures, methods, workflows, and functions to determine changes needed in existing automated accounting systems. Troubleshoot new automated accounting systems for interface with existing systems. Analyze, revise, improve, and adjust financial systems to eliminate problems. Develop programs to generate custom and recurring financial reports. Review current financial operations and recommend automated alternatives. Research systemic problems, compose and submit change requests to systems proponent. Knowledge of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act assists with data pulls for audit review and compliance. Implement operating procedures and conduct training for a wide variety of employees and management on systems operation. Analyze input data for conformance with accounting policy and processes as defined by financial management regulations and accounting user manuals. Query data from EDW, SQL, BOBBI or other data analysis software. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining and analyzing financial management automated systems; preparing financial reports; and developing programs for financial and/or accounting activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
