Overview
Fire Alarm Service Technician 2 is responsible for conducting in-depth inspections, advanced troubleshooting, and comprehensive repairs of fire alarm systems.
Responsibilities
· Conduct detailed inspections and thorough testing of fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, identifying and resolving complex issues.
· Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair intricate problems in fire alarm systems, including VESDA systems and interconnected components such as elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, and smoke control.
· Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades, completing testing reports in a timely manner.
· Provide technical support to junior technicians, collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.
· Respond promptly to service calls, emergencies, and system failures, restoring system functionality while upholding safety protocols and company policies.
· Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of various fire alarm systems, including Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Gamewell, Honeywell, Firelite, etc.
· Perform complete site surveys for potential preventive maintenance inspections and fire alarm system changes/modifications, preparing labor estimates and material requirements.
· Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize system performance, while pursuing and maintaining industry certifications.

Qualifications
**Education:**
· Minimum of high school degree and five years of related experience or two years technology degree and three years of related experience.
**Certifications:**
+ NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.
**Requirements:**
· Ability to obtain US Clearance, minimum DoD Secret Clearance.
· Above average level of attention to detail and professional work ethic.
· Commitment to excellence and a high quality of work.
· Knowledge of NFPA 72 and OSHA Requirements
· Ability to function in a controlled, effective manner under stress.
· Strong desire to continuously increase your skill set and take on more responsibility.
· Above average communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub-contractors
**Abilities:**
+ Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
+ Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
+ Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
+ Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
+ Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
+ May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
+ Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
+ Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
+ Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
+ See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
+ Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
