Tasks – Activities – Responsibilities
Conduct field and/or laboratory testing, inspections, and assessments of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, fire suppression systems, hydrants, sprinklers, and other firefighting equipment. Perform regular and detailed inspections of firefighting systems to ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications. Supervise the installation and commissioning of firefighting systems such as fire extinguishers, hose reels, sprinklers, fire pumps, and emergency alarms. Ensure the correct operation of fire detection and suppression systems, including smoke detectors, alarms, sprinklers, and fire pumps, and conduct regular functional tests. Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fire safety system specifications to verify compliance with safety codes and regulations. Perform risk assessments and ensure fire safety measures are designed and implemented according to legal and technical requirements. Provide recommendations and solutions to address any non-compliance or performance issues identified during inspections. Assist in the development of the scope of work for firefighting system testing, inspections, and maintenance. Stay updated on fire safety regulations, codes of practice, and relevant industry standards. Conduct regular audits of firefighting systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and reports regarding inspection results, non-compliance issues, and corrective actions. Ensure that firefighting equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed and assist with training and knowledge sharing. Follow established safety protocols and ensure all activities are conducted safely, reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to the line manager. Follow up on the resolution of non-compliance reports (NCRs) Our job performance is within the framework of the BV Quality Assurance System, QHSE policy, Codes of Ethics and BV Group’s policies and procedures.Candidate Profile
University Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in firefighting system inspection, testing, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations, and firefighting equipment and systems. Experience with fire detection systems, fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting. Successful completion of relevant safety and fire protection certifications.Technical and professional skills
Proficient in using office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (preferred). Ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple tasks effectively. Willingness to travel for inspection and testing assignments. Strong leadership skills, capable of managing and guiding teams.
