Fire & Gas Engineer

Wood is currently looking for a Fire & Gas Instrumentation Engineer to join our Systems Integration team as part of Woods Consulting business unit to support across our UK projects. 

The position will be for a minimum 12-month contract with a hybrid working arrangement. Office attendance is required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at one of the following locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow, or Staines.

Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer with proven experience in Fire & Gas (F&G) systems to support the delivery of critical engineering documentation and design coordination. 

In this role, you will be responsible for producing a comprehensive suite of F&G engineering deliverables, including IS/volt drop calculations, instrument datasheets, instrument index, I/O schedules, cause and effect diagrams, design specifications, bill of materials, material requisitions, and cable specifications. You will also oversee and approve the F&G design outputs produced by the C&I Design team, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with project standards.

F&G Engineers work closely with process safety and automation teams to ensure seamless integration of fire and gas systems with other safety systems, contributing to the overall integrity and reliability of project designs
