Fire/Intrusion/Security Inspection Technician

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven Fire/Intrusion/Security Inspector to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting fire alarm systems in specified buildings. Identify and report problems or discrepancies. Ensures customer satisfaction for all inspections. As a Fire/Intrusion/Security Inspector, you will be part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

1.     Conducts fire alarm testing and inspection. Documents all results in detailed building reports and/or discrepancy reports.   Ensure that system is operating properly.   

2.     Reports problems or discrepancies resulting from the inspection.

3.     Monitors fire alarm panel.

4.     Completes reports and paperwork associated with the inspection.

5.     Interacts with building owner or building engineer prior to, during and after completion of the testing process.  Reviews report results and next steps as necessary.

6.     Shares reports with other departments in order to resolve issues or discrepancies.

7.     May train or assist less experienced/newer colleagues on the job.

8.     Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.

9.     Ensures proper testing equipment and materials are onsite for effective and safe testing and inspection process.

10.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and design drawings Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted Basic math skills Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Good English speaking and reading skills Must have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law. Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must obtain NICET certification within two years.  Must pass extensive drug and nation-wide background testing.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):  

1 year previous, relevant field experience Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, and/or sprinkler systems Certifications: Industry and/or product-specific certifications
