Position Overview

This important role will involve planning and organizing daily crew activities, ensuring the timely completion and submission of all applicable paperwork, assessing crew performance, managing safety, production and quality control with ongoing field training and development. The Technician role requires extensive travel throughout Canada.

Job Duties Operating a Hy-Rail Fire Protection Vehicle. Wildland Fire Suppression. Railway Infrastructure Inspection using contemporary heat detection technology. Maintain meticulous records of work performed, inventory, and equipment. Travel to various sites throughout Canada. Organize daily activities and oversee safe execution. Manage customer service expectations and communicate with client representatives. Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment. Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Railway experience preferred, but not required. Previous experience in leadership role an asset. Wildfire training and/or experience are preferred; however, training will be provided. Physically fit and able to work unsupervised in remote work locations. Valid Provincial commercial driver’s license - class 3A or equivalent. Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress. Standard or Emergency First Aid certification an asset. High school diploma or CAEC/GED equivalent preferred.  Additional Information Full time. Year-round employment. Overtime opportunities.
