Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Auditor to assess fire safety systems and services in manufacturing industries across India. The role involves conducting detailed audits to ensure compliance with applicable fire safety regulations, verifying that systems function as intended, and identifying potential design or operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit and Inspection:

Conduct thorough audits of fire safety systems, services, and equipment, including fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, and emergency evacuation systems.Evaluate compliance with national fire safety standards (e.g., NBC, IS codes) and industry best practices.

Assessment and Analysis:

Verify the operational effectiveness of fire safety systems and procedures.Identify design, installation, or maintenance issues that could impact safety or compliance.Assess the adequacy of fire risk mitigation strategies and recommend improvements.

Compliance Verification:

Ensure adherence to statutory requirements under relevant Indian laws and regulations.Document and report non-compliance issues, including gaps in fire safety preparedness or design flaws.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing observations, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.Present findings to management and provide actionable solutions for improvement.

Training and Awareness:

Conduct training sessions or workshops for staff on fire safety awareness and best practices.Collaborate with teams to foster a culture of safety and compliance.

Coordination and Follow-up:

Work with fire system vendors, maintenance teams, and facility management to resolve identified issues.Conduct follow-up audits to ensure implementation of recommended actions.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.Certification in fire safety auditing or related fields (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience of experience (after Bachelors) in fire safety auditing or related roles, preferably in manufacturing industries.Strong knowledge of Indian fire safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., NBC, BIS codes).Proficiency in identifying fire safety design and operational deficiencies.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.Willingness to travel extensively across India to conduct onsite audits.

Key Competencies:

Attention to detail and a methodical approach to audits.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Preferred:

Experience auditing large-scale or complex manufacturing facilities.Familiarity with emerging technologies in fire safety systems.
