Firefighter Lead

Responsibilities 1. Trains for and responds to emergencies. Controls and extinguishes, structures, wild land and other fires to protect people, resources and the environment. 2. Trains and maintains preparedness to respond to emergencies. 3. Operates and maintains firefighting apparatus, tools, equipment, and systems. 4. Effects entry into structures, and other enclosures. 5. Administers emergency first aid. 6. Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: • Computer, printer, calculator, phone, copy/scan/fax machine and other general office equipment. Frequent use of Microsoft Office applications, Maximo, and SharePoint. Firefighting apparatus, tools, ladders, equipment, and systems. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: • Work is in a general operational and office environment in Poland. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Duty location is subject to extreme cold weather conditions. Applicant must be able to meet physical fitness requirements to be deemed fit for duty and will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE-ex: helmet, fire-retardant clothing, SCBA, etc). PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: • Work will require lifting up to 150 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to the weather. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. H.S. Diploma or equivalent HAZMAT Operations Fire Officer II Fire Instructor II Fire Inspector II NREMT-Basic HAZMAT Incident Commander American Heart Association: CPR (BLS) Basic Life Support Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recognized National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: 100, 200, 700 and 800 (Prefer 300 and 400) Experience: 3-4 years’ experience as a Fire Fighter Skills: Must have good computer skills. Must have good verbal and nonverbal communication skills to obtain and maintain interpersonal relationships with the public. Desirable Qualifications: ' SCBA technician ' EMT Instructor ' CPR Instructor ' Confined Space Rescue Trainer ' HAZMAT Train the Trainer Clearance required; Secret Security clearance
