Job Summary The Network Security team is responsible for providing secure and reliable connectivity within the ConocoPhillips Enterprise and Operational Technology (OT) networks. The team manages a growing firewall environment to meet high standards for network security, performance, and availability. Network Security ensures our business runs smoothly and securely by providing critical services that protect our network infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities. As a Firewall Architect, you will serve a pivotal role in shaping the ConocoPhillips’ network security strategy and developing comprehensive roadmaps for firewall infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and handle firewall solutions that align with the ConocoPhillips’ long-term security goals. You will leverage your expertise to evaluate emerging technologies, define security policies, and ensure the scalability and resilience of the firewall architecture. Position Overview Your responsibilities may include: + Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for firewall infrastructure to support the organization's security objectives + Collaborate with leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to align firewall strategies with business goals + Design and implement robust, scalable firewall architectures that enhance network security + Advance network segmentation efforts in both enterprise and OT networks + Evaluate and integrate emerging firewall technologies and solutions + Automate firewall configurations and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention + Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to integrate firewall solutions with other security measures + Improve operations security by implementing best practices and continuous monitoring + Serve as subject matter expert on network security-related matters + Troubleshoot and consult on firewall-related issues to ensure optimal performance Basic/Required: + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer + 3 or more years of experience in network security, including designing and implementing firewall solutions + 1 or more years of experience with scripting or network automation + Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to perform tasks outside normal business hours on a rotational callout basis Preferred: + Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field, or foreign equivalent + Certifications: CISSP, PCNSE, PCNSA, CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE + 5 or more years of experience in network security, firewall architecture, and design + 3 or more years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls + 1 or more years of experience with scripting languages and tools including Python and Ansible + 1 or more years of experience in firewall policy lockdown and hardening experience + Advanced level of knowledge of firewall technologies and network security principles including network segmentation, least-privilege, and security operations + Advanced level of proficiency in networking principles, routing, network design, and common network protocols + Intermediate level of proficiency in automating firewall configurations and workflows + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior management + Ability to rapidly develop a conceptual understanding of environments that are new to them and provide insight into the analysis of related events + Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results + Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals + Analyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact business results Apply Before: January 31, 2025 Sponsorship: ConocoPhillips’ sponsorship for employment authorization in the U.S. is NOT available for this position.
